Sitting in the car, igniting the car, stepping on the accelerator and starting, this is how common we are. However, the process of how a car engine starts from standstill to run is probably not well understood by many people. The following moving pictures detail the process of the car from standstill to start. It is intuitive and obvious. After reading, it will definitely make you know more about the car!

What happens to the car after pressing the start button?

0.5 seconds after pressing the button, the vehicle completes the circuit self-test

After pressing for 1 second, the circuit of the starter motor is turned on, driving the motor to run at high speed, the motor rotor drives the flywheel of the engine, and the car engine starts in the roar.

What is controlled by the accelerator pedal depressed at this time?

The accelerator pedal controls the opening and closing angle of the engine intake valve (also known as the throttle valve). The deeper the accelerator pedal is, the greater the opening and closing angle of the intake valve and the greater the intake air volume.

After the engine is started, the oil is pumped by the high-pressure oil pump into the area to be lubricated (orange area in the figure), and as the intake valve opens and closes, air enters the cylinder (blue area in the figure).

In the direct injection engine, air enters the cylinder while gasoline is also injected into the cylinder through the high-pressure fuel injection nozzle and mixed with the air to form combustible gas.

Then, the spark plug ignites in time, igniting combustible gas to form “deflagration”, and the huge impact force causes the piston to move. Such “deflagration” occurs hundreds of thousands of times per minute. The movement of the piston drives the engine crankshaft to rotate rapidly. The engine speed is the number of crankshaft revolutions per minute.

The cylinder piston reciprocates under the impulse of closed deflagration, generating continuous power.

At this point, the engine has successfully started,

Put the gear on and step on the accelerator, the speed and speed gradually increase,

We can go!
